Who are Socialist Students?Socialist Students is a democratically run, independent socialist organisation, fighting for the socialist transformation of society. We campaign on campuses and within the NUS around the following demands:
No top-up fees – Introduce a living grant for all. No to the Graduate Tax. Write off all student debt. For a fully funded education system at all levels. Rebuild the student movement and transform the NUS into a body that represents and fights for students’ rights locally and nationally. End Low Pay. For full trade union rights for young workers. For affordable rents and safe accommodation. Link the struggles of students with those of workers into an organised force capable of changing society. End the occupation of Iraq. No to war, no to terror. Against racism, homophobia and other forms of prejudice. No platform for fascists. Solidarity with workers and students in struggle around the world. Build and spread the ideas of socialism among students through discussions and activities. For a democratic socialist society to replace capitalism.
